Los Angeles International Soccer Club is committed to player development. Our motto, ‘Development First’, applies to not only our players but also to our coaches, who are in the pursuit of excellence. We enforce our 3 fundamentals of coaching: enjoyment, empowerment and competition.

Enjoyment

Players have to enjoy what they’re doing in order to develop a passion for the sport. By applying positive reinforcement to develop self-confidence, our players will establish a strong desire to improve and fulfill their potential.

Empowerment

Our players will be encouraged to take risks and make mistakes.  Learning through risks and failures fuels creativity and nurtures “decision makers” on the field.  We want our players to be strong psychologically and develop life skills along with their soccer skills. Our goal is to prepare our players for the highest level of competition. Having the ability to mentally prepare, endure and reflect on performances is what separates those at the elite level.

Competitiveness

We provide a number of varied ability-based programs to challenge our players. Regardless of level, the environment at our training sessions is focused and intense.

We want every player, regardless of playing position, to be comfortable on the ball, encouraging ball retention under pressure and increasing player skill and confidence, thus maximizing player development. We want our teams to be masters of their own destiny through absolute control.  Our training sessions are designed to improve knowledge and skills so that our players can make decisions and play comfortably under pressure.
